About this, from my, albeit short, time near the sea, I learned from some fishermen that large fishies don't make for good meals due to the amount of heavy metals and other toxins pooling up in their bodies over the years? I don't know if it's true, but I've heard it from more than one source. It's probably okay to eat one once in a while to celebrate, though.

Well, he says right in the article they tried reviving the shark and releasing it but it was too exhausted. Makes sense to take it home and eat it then and not waste it.

Haha what a coincidence. Also that looks really yummy.

Large fish may not be great for you due to the heavy metals they accumulate, but they make for some damn tasty eating. There is a reason the big fish are the most expensive ones on the menu (tuna, swordfish, mahi mahi, etc.)

Honestly, I'm with him on this. Eat, to hell with the record - you know what you caught and so does everybody else.
